FIRST AID

Our school was very lucky to have a lady from The New Zealand Red Cross to talk to us about safety. Her name was Gayle Dupa. She taught us about DRSABC which stands for Danger, Response, Send for help, Airway, Breathing and Circulation. WE also did some acting with different scenarios. We had a special workbook that we did along the way. She also showed us videos about Poison and Choking.

The Chinese Lantern Festival

On Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of February it was the Chinese Lantern Festival. The Chinese Lantern Festival marks the last day of the Chinese new year. In Albert Park in the city there are lots of different lanterns many Chinese based. This year it was the year of the Snake, last year it was the year of the Dragon and next year it is going to be the year of the Horse. There were many performances at the festival. On Princes Street people filled the street, checking out over 150 food stalls. There were all different types of food like dumplings, pork buns, ice cream, donuts, kebabs, canned drinks and many more varieties of drinks and food. The lanterns looked amazing in the dark. Did you go there? If you didn't maybe you can check it out next year.
