Update On School Pets

Have you ever wanted to know about our school pets anjd what they're up too?? Well, here are what the teachers have been saying :

Miss Mac says that Chester loves to sleep and he likes looking for food. When he is happy he jumps in the air and he tries to eat everything but he can only eat fruit and veges.

Miss Capstick told us that Peanut is up to his old tricks like bitting on the computer cords [ don't tell mr gilbert ha ha ]. He likes to sit on his cushion and he finds it hard to use a pencil so he uses the computer to do his work ha ha.

Mrs Cossey says Pepper is enjoying his life in D3 as he gets lots of cuddles and has time to run and hide in dark places. Pepper enjoys being taken out at break times and eats alot of grass.

Mrs Compston sadly said we have lost Minxy and even though we sent out lots of lost notes she hasn't been found. Poppy is very lonely.

Miss Lepou said that Stu is the grumpiest rabbit that she has ever met and he's scratched her many times but he's cute!

Computer Games

Hi, I'm Reon and this week I'm doing a review on some of the computer games we have in the library. One of our games that is more suitable for the junior school is Red Fish. Red Fish lets you explore a little world that helps you learn about mouse skills and have fun. Another one of our games is Pivot Stick Figure Animator. This game lets you control a stickman and use different frames to create a mini-movie using your stickman. You can make a movie having a giant in it or even make your stickman fly! The last game game I'm going to talk about is Typing Tournament. Typing Tournament is a game that helps you learn to touch type as well as type faster. It has 16 levels that let you see Knights and even dragons! All of these games and more can be found in the library at break times.

At Our School Assembly

On Friday we have school assembly. Mr Gilbert shares news and gives certificates to children from every class. Sometimes Mrs Compston has gossip as well. Teachers share news and notices. We often have visitors in our school and they come to assembly. Our School Leaders talk to us and they run the assembly. We sing our National Anthem. At special Duffy assemblies we sing our Duffy song, listen to the Duffy hero talk about reading, and they give us books.

Assemblies at our school are cool!!!

Japan's Earthquake Disaster

In Japan there was a massive earthquake and it was too scary. It was like a movie. It was to scary for me. It was a sad moment for Japanese people who live in different countries because their familes have been in the earthquake.
The earthquake caused a tsunami as well.It was a giant wave that swept away people, houses, cars, factories, boats and everything else.
Now there is a fire at the nuclear plant and if it blows up lots of people will get sick.

Sons of Thor, Dane the Defiant.

Written by Magnus Bledwell
This book is so facinating it's good enough to be a movie!
Dane is a normal villager who is in love with Astrid, but so is Prince Thidrek. As you read, Astrid is captured by the evil Prince Thidrek and he swaps her for Thor's Hammer. What will the Frost Giant do to her?
As Dane has adventures with his arch enemy, Drott, to save the lovely Astrid, they face two wells which either hold Extreme Wiseness or Complete Dumdness, not to mention the Evil Ice Rat! OH NO! If they can pass that challenge, there are bound to be worse challenges ahead than that! They come face to face with their death itself by Thidreks axe! Their lives are thrown into many topsy turvy situations. This is a book that insists you bite your nails, stamp your feet and leaves you on the
edge of your seat! If it is not on display in your Library, try the Senior Fiction section. (BLE)

Year 6 Camp 2011

Howdy y'all! Year 6's have had a GREAT time at camp! People have faced their fears right up in their face! They all loved their meals!
On the Confidence Course people had rope burns, blisters and some have had a couple of hits in the head! But as my grandaddy says "Your not having fun unless you face a challenge."
Our parent helpers were a big help within our guidelines! So please give a big applause for their HARD work! We've gotta say that at our concert, their magic tricks were tremendous!

Well I've gotta say the Water Slide was AWESOME! The flying fox was terrirfying for some, but MIND-BLOWINGLY FUN for others! Year 5's have a 100% guarantee of fun next year! So I wish I could go again!

P.S. In case you're wondering, you might be hearing rumours about eels in the ponds, there aren't!(Only tadpoles)

On Tuesday 1st March, we had 2 minutes silence to think about the people of Christchurch who have had a massive earthquake. So many people died, got injured or are still missing. Everyone is feeling very sad because lots of buildings fell down and got damaged. Lots 0f people have no where to live. Many children can't go to school and have fun because their school is closed. We hope they will be alright.

Last Tuesday, at 12.51pm, a massive earthquake happened in
Christchurch. Some of the people have died and the school kids can't go to school because the classrooms are damaged. And lots of people are injured. I hope the whole city recovers okay and they can fix all the buildings.
All the schools are having a mufti day so we can make some money for the schools in Christchurch.
