The Solar System

Planets, dwarf planets, asteroids, and comets move around the Sun. These objects and the Sun make up the solar system. Jupiter, Saturn,Uranus, and Neptune are large planets. They are made of gases. Earth, Mars, Mercury, Venus are smaller planets. They are rocky.

  1. Our topic this term is very interesting! Maybe I could be an astronomer [someone who studies space] when I grow up. Before this term if I heard the word space I would just think that it is the thing that we are in but now I know it is a whole lot of things like galaxies, planets, stars, dwarf planets, astroids, shooting stars, moons, rings and many other materials. My favourite planet is Neptune because I like it's colour and it is very interesting.

It was a really nice idea. I wonder who came up with it. I'm really looking forwrd to what next term's topic for theme is going to be for the school.

  3. My class is learning about the solar system as well and in a book at home I found out that Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system because on venus there are thick clouds and when the heat from the sun comes into venus and then the clouds work like blankets. The clouds cover the heat that comes into Venus and traps it there so then it won't come out. So heat can only come into Venus but it can't come out once it goes in.
