Missing Cat Returns?!

Missing cat returns after 13 years?!

A four year old tabby cat named Boo ran away from its owner Janet Adamowicz in 2005. Janet was a married step-mum-of-two and was heartbroken when her lovely cat ran away,she put up wanted posters everywhere and was desperate for her cat back.Fast forward 13 years later and a stray cat was found and taken to the vet,they scanned for a chip and found it was Janet's cat! She could not believe it when she got a call from the vet asking about a missing cat!

I would say that they were both very lucky!

Primary Teacher's To Go On Strike

Primary Teachers and principals have voted to go on strike on 15th of August. The NZEI have been seeking an 16 Percent pay rise.

Mrs Green said it would be up to boards of trustees to decide whether to open schools during the strike. NZEI and the ministry of education agreed yesterday to enter mediation.

If we're missing does it really matter? Probably, no one will miss us because most people it seems don't actually know where we are. Imagine if Australia, France, USA and other big countries were missing!! People would be insulted and upset.👿💀😡

Scientists Find That Black Holes Burp

Did you know that black holes burp? Just like humans! A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light cannot get out.

So why do they burp??? Well they burp because they sometimes have too much gas in them so they burp and release out all their gases. They get their gases from star clusters and planets and much more!

Smoothie is a fluffy golden cat with emerald green eyes who has earned the title "the world's most photographic cat!". Thanks to her cute photos and fluffy fur, she has more than 1.4 MILLION followers on instagram!

I think her title is well earned and she even has a website all about her! But you're probably thinking "but how does she exercise?" Well, Smoothie loves to chase small sponge balls around her house, she must be living the life! And in my opinion I think she's ameowzing!

One Big Adventure in Carey Park 2018!

Hey you! Have you ever been to camp before? If not, well, you came to the right post!

We are going to do loads of fun activities at Carey Park. I think that we are going to do Archery, Flying fox, Kayaking, Rock climbing, water slide and rope swing. Wow - how much fun will that be!! 

All the Year 6 students and going to camp in 5 weeks. We are a little bit excited and a little bit nervous too! It will be a great experience and we will all get to know each other so well and learn about ourselves as well.

Man breaks world record for cutting watermelons!

A 63 year old New York man Ashrita Furman broke the world record of cutting through 26 watermelons on his stomach  with a katana in less that 1 minute! A katana is like a huge skinny knife. Ashrita walked away with out a single scratch. Ashrita holds more than 200 guinness world records!! 😯

Fortnite is one of the world's most addictive games. Everyone is playing it! People love it because it's there's lots of challenges and you can move through the levels. Players can earn V Bucks and unlock cooler items. Kids and adults around the world are playing Fortnite and there are new seasons about to drop!!

Awesome New Principal

Mr Gilbert has recently retired and now Mr Canute is principal for term 2. We are lucky to have him because he is really nice. Once term 2 is over Mr Canute will no longer be our principal and we will have our new principal Mr Crowhurst at our school. We are looking forward to meeting him!

Sports Exchange

On Thursday afternoons different schools compete in sports such as Netball,Soccer and rugby in an Interschool Sports Exchange. These teams travel to other schools to compete against  other primary schools.They compete against each other for fun and to feel fit and learn how how to be active.

Volcanic Eruption And Earthquake Hit Hawaii

Kilauea volcano erupted killing 26 people and threatening over hundreds more. Nearly 2,000 people have been evacuated from their homes. On Sunday night vents opened and lava leaped up  to 70m in the air. Hawaii was hit by a 6.9 powerful magnitude  earthquake on Friday. Kilauea is one of the worlds most  active volcanoes.

Avengers Movie

 
Avengers is the biggest movie this year and the producers have made a lot of money from it. It's a very cool movie too watch and it is a family fun movie which everyone will love. For a change you could go to the movies and buy some popcorn and icecream, sit down with your kids and enjoy the fun while you can. If you do go trust me you wont regret it one bit.
