Pap East Zoo trips

Pap East kids were very excited because the whole school got to visit the Auckland Zoo. All of the students had a great experience at the zoo. We got to see lots and lots of animals like Red Pandas, Zebras, Giraffes, Ostriches and turtles.
This terms Inquiry  topic is about making a difference for animals lives.
There are five freedoms They are :

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst (food and water )
2. freedom from discomfort (shelter )
3. Freedom from pain, injury and decease (medical care )      
4. Freedom to express normal behaviour (exercise )
5. Freedom from fear and distress ( love and understanding )

These are five freedoms to keep animals safe and healthy.

We're goin' to the Zoo!

This week our whole school is lucky enough to go to the zoo! Our juniors are going on Tuesday and Wednesday and our seniors are going on Thursday. We are going because our whole school theme this term is Make A Difference (or MAD!). We will spend the day learning abut these wonderful wild animals and having fun!

Leopard Escapes Zoo in the USA

A leopard escapes from Hogle Zoo in Utah, USA. He escaped in a public area but it was lucky for the people that they all hid in the shop, café and other buildings. The leopard was a 4 year old girl and her name was Zeya. Zeya was found an hour later asleep near her enclosure. The strange thing was that no one knows what happened when she escaped.
In my opinion I say that they're not doing their jobs at the zoo because they did not see what happened or they did not stop the leopard from getting away.

Auckland zoo

The year five children went to the Zoo to learn and focus about predators on land, and also habitats. At the Zoo we had fun because at the Giraffe place some of the lucky children got to feed a Giraffe, it's tongue was really slimy. And also the talking parrot was cool. When ever we say ''Hello'' five times it says ''Hello Crackers'' back to you.

We learned lots about predators and their habitats.
